PILGRIMAGE

Other beautiful temples near the location include the temples of Mardol, Shanta Durga and Mahalaxmi. The Sé Catedral de Santa Catarina, known as Se Cathedral is a popular Christian pilgrimage spot in Goa. It is part of the World Heritage Site, Churches and convents of Goa located in Old Goa, India.

BIRDING IN CHORAO ISLAND and CARAMBOLIM
Nature manifests its beauty in many forms. The Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary in Chorao Island, Goa is a place to experience one such marvel. A haven for several bird species, mangrove trees and more. This estuarine mangrove habitat is located on the western tip of the Island of Chorao along the Mandovi River. In addition to the birds, it is also the habitat of different varieties of crabs and marine animals.
You can access the island and the sanctuary by a ferry service.
Another famous birding sight is the North Goan village of Carambolim. This spot is famous for the Carambolim freshwater lake, which has aided a beautiful environment for several migratory and waterbird species. Waterfowls, egrets, jacanas, moorhens, herons, pintails and open-billed storks are a few of the species commonly seen around this area.
Carambolim is situated within a distance of 18kms to Ponda. You can reach here by road, enjoying the beauty of Goan villages.

TREK TO DUDHSAGAR
Dudhsagar translated to 'Sea of Milk' is one of the tallest waterfalls in India. This is a four-tiered waterfall on the Mandovi River and is located inside a lush green forest. Dudhsagar is one of the popular monsoon trekking destinations. To witness the rich and beautiful green forest, it is recommended to visit this spot during the rainy season.
You can also enjoy the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary as you walk towards the falls.
Dudhsagar is within 50kms of Ponda and can be reached via road. There are different tour packages available to experience the Dudhsagar trek in the best way. You can also make personal plans and trek towards one of the most magnificent sights in all of Goa.
